Due to the aggressive high-contact nature of the sport of hockey, there is not telling how or when an injury can occur. Participation in the sport does imply acceptance of some risk of injuries occurring. Wearing protective equipment, including visors/facemask does not prevent injuries from occurring however it does reduce the frequency and severity of any injuries but they can still occur. There isn’t any piece of hockey equipment that will eliminate injuries from occurring. Participation in hockey or any other contact sport should be played at the risk of the player.
